About Craftastic

Bizi Lizi in her yellow vanCraftastic is an arts and crafts company providing creative experiences for all ages, run by CBeebies ‘SMarteenies’ presenter Bizi Lizi.

Every since her very early years, Lizi always wanted to be a children’s television presenter. Her favourite programme was ‘Take Hart’ presented by the legend that is Tony Hart. Hartbeat followed and Lizi dreamt of being ‘one of Tony’s girls’!!

After graduating from Bretton Hall College in Wakefield, with a B.Ed degree in Art Education, she took a job at BBC Radio Leeds as a production assistant in the news room. Two years later she moved to Birmingham to begin her first television job as a researcher on Pebble Mill. It was here where she got the ‘TV bug’ and it wasn’t long before her dream job became available and she grabbed it with both hands.

Lizi moved to London in 1996 to start work as an art researcher for the CBBC art programme SMart. From this, she developed the sister show 'SMart On The Road'. It was on this programme she had her first experience of presenting. She was the CBBC equivalent of Handy Andy, know as Bizi Lizi! She travelled around the country decorating children's classrooms, bedrooms, scout huts and, on one occasion, a caravan in Wales! From this programme, came the one she is most well know for; 'SMarteenies'. This is a pre-school art show where she makes 'finger and thumb' pictures on the TV screen right in front of the children’s eyes!

Although she thoroughly enjoyed presenting children's art shows, and producing new art programme formats behind the scenes, such as 'Doodle Do', she decided to leave the BBC behind and work more hands on with children and art. This is why she has set up her arts and crafts business.
