Arts and Crafts Classes for Children

Craftastic is an arts and crafts company providing creative experiences for all ages, run by CBeebies ‘SMarteenies’ presenter Bizi Lizi.

Craftastic can provide art activities for children aged between 2 and 11 years old. All activities are created with the particular children in mind. Craftastic aims to provide the highest quality of creative experience with the widest range of materials.

Arts and Crafts classes will be held at the Craftastic Workshop at Trapp Forge, Simonstone, and are aimed at children with an interest in arts and crafts. There are two different types of classes.

1. Pottery Classes: This workshop will involve working with both earthenware and stoneware clay. The children will learn and develop skills in the many techniques of ceramics including coil and slab building, sculpture and making pots on the potter’s wheel. All clay work will be fired and glazed in a professional way. As the items are finished, they can be taken home.
2. Craft Classes: The craft workshops will be a relaxed, fun workshop tailored for the children who love making and creating things! It will be project based where the children will take home the item they have made every week. Projects they can expect to take part in during this class will include mask making, mosaic, tie dye and model making.

The classes are open to children aged between 5-7 and 8-11.

Arts and Crafts Parent and toddler groups

Art and Craft parent and toddler groups will be held at the Craftastic Workshop at Trapp Forge, Simonstone, and are aimed at parents who would like their toddlers to experience and enjoy various art and crafts activities without having to worry about making a mess at home! With this in mind it is advisable that children (and maybe parents) wear old clothes!

These sessions will be an alternative to nursery where children can engage in many activities, all of which are art orientated. Activities available will include painting, collage, printing, junk modelling and clay work. (Please note these activities will be spread over the whole term and not in one session.)

The classes are open to children aged 2-5 with parents present at all times.

Classes will be on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings 10-10.45am and Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons 1.30-2.15pm.
