Party projects - Jewellery Design

Craftastic is an arts and crafts company providing creative experiences for all ages, run by CBeebies ‘SMarteenies’ presenter Bizi Lizi.

This jewellery designing party works really well with all the older age range and is particularly popular with children from the age of 9 and older.

After the initial ‘arriving’ activity, the format for this particular party is straight forward. For the first session, the children will be given a selection of beads and fixings. They will spend about 30 minutes or so designing their jewellery based on the beads they have chosen. They will draw their design onto card and use as a basis for making their jewellery! They will be provided with enough beads etc to make a necklace and bracelet or bag charm.

When they have finished designing their jewellery, the children will then go for their party food. While the children are eating, Lizi will clear away all the crayons and design equipment. They will be given ‘bead boards’ to enable them to layout and control their beads while making their jewellery.

On the children’s return to the table, they will put together their necklace and bracelet or bag charm. (with guidance). This takes approximately 30 minutes.

Finally, during the last 15 minutes or so, the children will be provided with their plain paper party bag that they can decorate with crayons and the remaining stickers.

At the end of the day the children will have a party bag filled with the items they have made during the party.
