Sculpture

Craftastic is an arts and crafts company providing creative experiences for all ages, run by CBeebies ‘SMarteenies’ presenter Bizi Lizi.

Craftastic provides arts and crafts experiences within the school environment. All activities are linked to the Art National Curriculum schemes of work and can be tailored to suit the particular school requirements.

As with all the National Curriculum QCA’s, sculpture features throughout the school years. Craftastic can provide two types of workshop within this topic.

The first workshop is a day long, one off session. The whole class would be involved in a large scale sculpture based on a book or story they are currently reading in class. The example here is a sculpture based on ‘Charlie and the Chocolate factory’. Materials used include recycled boxes, tubes and other junk items.

The second workshop would last 6 weeks. Various sculpture techniques would be explored and one famous sculpture would be studied. The children will gain a wide range of skills and knowledge of sculpture and would have a large number of different sculptures to illustrate these new skills.

The above descriptions are an outline of how the workshops could be run. All workshops are subject to detailed discussion with the class and head teacher to ensure the project will work within the school curriculum.

Craftastic can provide art activities for children from nursery and foundation stage to year 6. All activities are created with the particular children in mind. Craftastic aims to provide the highest quality of creative experience with the widest range of materials.
